Edinburgh Gateway Station
Due to be opened to the public in December 2016, Edinburgh Gateway Station is under construction to enable efficient access to the airport, as well as to support wider development to the west of Edinburgh.
The station will serve two tracks providing access from Edinburgh to Aberdeen. An independent canopy with 3900mm clear headroom is located on each platform. A platform building, a rail station and a tram stop interchange building have been constructed to safely circulate passengers. A vertical transfer structure connects the tram stop with Edinburgh Gateway station. The buildings are linked by roofs to provide open ended enclosures over the existing rail track and the lines leading to the depot. A bridge internally connects the platform building and rail station building at first floor level, passing over the existing rail tracks.
