Temporary Roof on 'Billionaires Row'

Located on one of Britain’s most expensive streets, this West London mansion required a temporary roof to enable the replacement of the existing roof.  A duo-pitch rolling roof solution was adopted, supported on independent scaffolds which were constructed against two of the elevations.

The building was in poor condition, initial pull out tests identified anchors were falling out at 3.0kN.  The solution was to adopt a rigorous wind loading calculation to utilise reduction factors available through the codes of practice.  In addition, wires were connected to opposing scaffold elevations, to ensure the load was always in compression whichever way the wind blew.
